Automotive software company OEConnection of Richfield said it has acquired Summit Consulting Int’l Inc., a business intelligence consultant to the automotive industry.
Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. An OEConnection spokesman said in an email that Summit Consulting, which is based in Dallas, has 35 employees.
In a news release issued Tuesday morning, Nov. 10, OEConnection described Summit Consulting as being “focused on transforming the way automotive OEMs, dealers and their customers receive, manage, distribute and communicate actionable information. The company is well known for using data to help their clients increase sales, improve customer satisfaction and strengthen owner loyalty.”
OEConnection produces software that allows car and heavy truck dealers to sell original equipment parts to other dealers and repair shops. It said in the release that Summit Consulting “brings the vision, analytics and insights to enable OEC to leverage data on the buy side and deliver increased value to the customer.”
Patrick Brown, who in October was named OEConnection president and CEO, said in a statement that Summit Consulting “has an incredible reputation with its clients in the business intelligence space and we are extremely happy to be joining forces.”
OEConnection says it serves 37 international auto brands, 30,000 dealers and more than 135,000 repair customers worldwide. It has about 1,000 employees.
The company was founded in 2000 as a partnership between several original equipment manufacturers, including Ford and GM, to provide technology to facilitate the sale of original equipment replacement parts between automakers and franchised dealers and their wholesale customers.
